# Shopify Product Feed for TikTok and Pinterest Catalogs: Use Your Awesome Feeds Feed > Shopify product feed for your TikTok catalog and Pinterest: add the Awesome Feeds Google-format XML URL as a scheduled feed. What works and what doesn't. Product feeds · 5 min read · Updated 2026-10-10 Canonical: https://awesomestoreapps.com/docs/tiktok-and-pinterest-catalogs Awesome Feeds builds one kind of **Shopify product feed**: a Google-format XML file (`.xml`, also gzipped as `.xml.gz`) that Facebook, Instagram and Google Merchant Center read. **Pinterest catalogs accept that XML format as it is**, and **TikTok catalogs can read it too**, with one extra mapping step for TikTok's own column names, so you can add an Awesome Feeds feed URL to either catalog. Be clear on one thing before you start: this is *format compatibility*, not a dedicated integration. There is no TikTok- or Pinterest-specific feed type, and the app doesn't push anything to either platform. Each platform fetches your feed URL on its own schedule. This guide shows how to set up a separate feed for each channel, get the URL, add it on the TikTok or Pinterest side, and what to expect. ## 1. Understand how the feed works with TikTok and Pinterest Facebook, Instagram and Google are the channels Awesome Feeds is built for. Every feed it creates is the same Google-namespace XML. Pinterest's required fields (id, title, description, link, image_link, price, availability) are the same Google fields. TikTok's catalog uses its own names for some of them (for example `sku_id` for the product ID), which you map once on the TikTok side (step 6). That's the whole link between them: you give the platform a feed URL, and it re-fetches the file on its own schedule. So nothing is "connected". The app has no TikTok or Pinterest account login, sends no data through an API, and doesn't build fields that only TikTok or Pinterest use. If one of those platforms asks for something outside the Google format, the feed won't carry it. ## 2. Create a separate feed for each channel Every plan includes **unlimited feeds**, so give TikTok and Pinterest their own feed rather than reusing your Facebook or Google one. Each feed is configured on its own, which means you can change products, images and links for one channel without touching the others. Create a new feed, or copy an existing one with **Duplicate** in that feed's **Actions** menu on the dashboard, and give it a clear name such as "TikTok catalog" or "Pinterest catalog". You can use the **Basic or Advanced editor** and switch between them at any time without losing settings. If you sell in several markets, the same rule applies: one feed per channel, country, language or campaign, each with its own currency or Shopify Markets country and language. ![The Actions menu next to a feed on the dashboard, which holds Duplicate](https://awesomestoreapps.com/docs-assets/img/tiktok-and-pinterest-catalogs/00-actions-duplicate.png) ## 3. Choose which products and variants go in Pick **all products or only selected collections**, exclude products by tag, and add **Filter variants** rules (for example a minimum price). Then set the **variant export mode**: - All variants including sold out (the default; sold-out variants are exported as out of stock) - All available variants, excluding sold out - One variant per product Keep your plan in mind: the product limit is **per feed** (2,000 on Pro, 5,000 on Business, unlimited on Enterprise; variants aren't counted). A feed with more products than your plan allows stops building and shows "Needs attention" until you upgrade. More detail in [Choose exactly which products and variants go in your feed](https://awesomestoreapps.com/docs/filter-products-and-variants.md). ![The choice between all products and selected collections in a feed's Product export settings](https://awesomestoreapps.com/docs-assets/img/tiktok-and-pinterest-catalogs/01-products-and-variants.png) ## 4. Set images and tracking links for the channel Because this feed is only for TikTok or Pinterest, you can tune it for that placement. Choose which image each product uses, and use **resize images** to set an aspect ratio for this feed, with a preview. Check TikTok's or Pinterest's own image requirements to pick the ratio; the app doesn't apply one for you. See [Transform product images](https://awesomestoreapps.com/docs/transform-product-images.md). Add **UTM tracking** parameters to the product links (for example a source of `tiktok` or `pinterest`) so you can tell that traffic apart in your analytics. Note that the app adds no TikTok pixel or Pinterest tag; set those up separately if you need conversion tracking. ![The UTM source field in a feed's settings](https://awesomestoreapps.com/docs-assets/img/tiktok-and-pinterest-catalogs/02-utm-tracking.png) ## 5. Save and copy the feed URL Save the feed. It builds, then keeps **updating automatically** as your products, prices, inventory and collections change. On the dashboard, wait until the feed's status shows **OK**, then click **Copy** next to its feed URL in the row under the feed (on a phone, use **Copy (.xml.gz)** in the feed's **Actions** menu). Each feed has a gzipped `.xml.gz` URL and a plain `.xml` URL. Both TikTok and Pinterest accept gzipped files, so the `.xml.gz` URL is the one to use: it's smaller and faster to fetch. ![A feed with the OK status badge and the Copy button for its gzipped .xml.gz feed URL on the dashboard](https://awesomestoreapps.com/docs-assets/img/tiktok-and-pinterest-catalogs/03-copy-feed-url.png) ## 6. Add the URL to your TikTok or Pinterest catalog **TikTok:** in TikTok Ads Manager, go to **Assets** → **Catalog**, open your catalog and click **Manage** → **Products** → **Add Products**, then choose **Data Feed Schedule**. Enter a data feed name and paste the feed URL, select an upload frequency and an update method, and click **Import**. TikTok expects its own column names: if the import reports missing required fields (such as `sku_id`), open the catalog's **Product Sources**, click the source, then **Settings** → **Add Rules** and use **Mapping** to move the feed's `id` into `sku_id`. TikTok catalogs are only available in markets where its catalog ads have launched. If you already send an Awesome Feeds feed to Google Merchant Center, TikTok can also import your catalog from Merchant Center instead. **Pinterest:** in your Pinterest business account, open the menu and under **Manage business** click **Catalogs and product groups** → **Add data source** → **Provide URL link**. Enter a name, paste the feed URL, set the file format to XML, and choose the country/region, language, default currency and default availability. The country and language can't be changed later, so match them to the feed's market. Pinterest fetches the URL once every 24 hours; turn on **Scheduled ingestions** to pick the time. Then click **Create Pins**. Awesome Feeds has no CSV or TSV output, so always choose the XML format. ## 7. Check the import and keep it current After the first fetch, look at the platform's own catalog diagnostics for rejected or warned items. Some things to know when reading them: - Product `condition` is always exported as `new`. - Google product categories aren't detected automatically; set them with [Google Shopping rules](https://awesomestoreapps.com/docs/google-shopping-rules.md), metafields or attribute mapping. - Prices come from your feed currency or Shopify Markets country; nothing is converted. The feed rebuilds on its own, but TikTok or Pinterest only see the new version when they next fetch it, so their schedule sets how fresh the catalog is. If you change something and want a rebuild straight away, use **Update now** on the feed. If the feed shows "Needs attention" on the dashboard, see [why a feed isn't updating](https://awesomestoreapps.com/docs/troubleshoot-feed-not-updating.md). ## FAQ ### Does Awesome Feeds have a TikTok or Pinterest integration? Not a dedicated one. Awesome Feeds is built for Facebook, Instagram and Google, and it outputs one format: Google-format XML. Pinterest catalogs accept that format as it is, and TikTok catalogs read it once you map the product ID to TikTok's `sku_id` column, so you can add the feed URL to either. There's no TikTok- or Pinterest-specific feed type and no account connection; each platform fetches the URL on its own schedule. ### Can I use my Facebook feed URL in my TikTok catalog? Technically yes, because every feed is the same XML format. A separate feed for each channel is better, though: feeds are unlimited on every plan, and a dedicated feed lets you set its own products, image aspect ratio and UTM parameters without affecting your Facebook catalog. ### How often does my TikTok or Pinterest catalog update? The app rebuilds the feed automatically after product, price, inventory or collection changes, and a background sweep refreshes every active feed. Updates aren't real-time: bigger feeds wait longer between rebuilds. The platform then picks up the new file on the fetch schedule you set there, so that schedule decides how current the catalog is. ### Does Awesome Feeds add the TikTok pixel or Pinterest tag? No. The app only builds product feeds. It has no pixel, remarketing tag or conversion tracking for any platform, and it doesn't create or run ads. Set up tracking and campaigns in TikTok or Pinterest yourself. ### Can I get a CSV feed for Pinterest or TikTok? No. Awesome Feeds only outputs Google-format XML (`.xml` and gzipped `.xml.gz`). There's no CSV or TSV output, so choose the XML option when you add the feed on the platform. ### Do I need a higher plan to use TikTok or Pinterest? No. All features, including unlimited feeds and image resizing, are on every plan. Plans differ only by products per feed: Pro $24/month for 2,000, Business $39/month for 5,000 and Enterprise $59/month for unlimited (USD). Every plan has a 7-day free trial; there's no free plan.
